General Information
Description of ServiceCounseling and Psychotherapy Psychologists at Children's Specialized Hospital are specially trained to treat individuals from birth through 23 years of age, with a variety of problems including depression, anxiety and other mood disorders, adjustment problems, behavior difficulties, panic disorders, autism spectrum disorders, social skill weaknesses, phobias, Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (AD/HD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, low self-esteem, peer or sibling problems, parent/child conflict, eating disorders, trauma, abuse, chronic pain, chronic illness, weight control, school problems, divorce, anger management, grief and loss.

Treatment is provided through individual play therapy, psychotherapy, behavior therapy, parent counseling, family therapy, group therapy, or a combination of these methods.

Group therapy and psycho-educational programs for children with AD/HD or problems with social skills or other issues are offered. These groups may be structured to include family and caregiver participation.

All services are always tailored to meet the needs of the child or adolescent and his or her family.
