|Description of Program||The National Early Childhood Technical Assistance Center supports the national implementation of the early childhood provisions of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). Our mission is to strengthen systems at all levels to ensure that children (birth through five) with disabilities and their families receive and benefit from high quality, culturally appropriate and family centered supports and services.
The primary business of our Center is technical assistance (TA). We work with a variety of state and local audiences and TA partners. And, we employ various strategies to transfer this know-how, including consultation, workshops, information services and supports from our NECTAC Clearinghouse, teleconferences, and electronic communications such as discussion groups and the World Wide Web. These and other dissemination strategies provide information to potentially every American who can use it.
